Product Overview

YuanXing Electronics offers a new line of PCB current transformer designed for energy monitoring and instrumentation applications. The new series of pcb mount transformers provides a reliable solution for current sensing in high-density PCB assemblies and is ideal for OEMs needing a reliable circuit board transformer. Available in over 50 standard sizes, the PCB mount transformers will fit within various architectural constraints and design specifications.

The magnetic design of the transformers pcb is based on either a toroidal silicon steel or nickel alloy core that provides the transformer’s magnetic properties and corresponding high linearity and low phase shift as defined by accuracy classes of 0.1 and 0.2 in IEC 61869-2 Part 2. Regardless of whether the mini pcb mounting current transformer is used in smart metering, power factor correction or load monitoring applications, they provide excellent signal fidelity over the entire frequency range of 50 Hz to 400 Hz. The high permeability of the circuit board transformers allows them to provide very high precision transformation ratios from 1000 to 3000 under very low current conditions, making them ideal components in precision measurement devices.

The PCB transformer is encapsulated structurally with a UL 94-V0 rated Flame Retardant PBT housing, providing added thermal stability and fire safety. The high grade epoxy potting inside the unit provides excellent dielectric resistance of 1,000 MΩ at 500V DC (minimum) as well as a minimum isolation current rating of 2,500V AC for 1 minute between the primary and secondary. Optional surge withstand capabilities up to 5,000V (1.2/50μs standard shock wave) are available for transient environments, providing additional protection to the transformer circuit board interface to resist the effects of voltage surges. The rugged construction of the pcb current transformer is designed to operate successfully over a temperature range of -25°C to +55°C and has extended ranges from -40°C to +85°C adequate for the harsh industrial environment.

The TA series, the flagship series of the pcb mount transformer product line, offers rated inputs from 5A to 100A and supplies a wide range of monitoring requirements of various loads. The non-symmetrical pattern of mounting holes assists with proper orientation during assembly to eliminate assembly errors and provide a streamlined production line for the circuit board transformer. Models such as the TA-1111 and TA-22B11 clearly illustrate the small footprint of the current transformer pcb, providing the engineer the ability to utilize the PCB area efficiently with no sacrifice to performance of the measurement.
